What is new

In response to the coronavirus pandemic, the deadline for the submission of business plans to the Pan-European Competition on Digital Governance will be extended accordingly. The competition is targeting submissions from the academia towards shaping these ideas to fully functional products at entrepreneurial level through a comprehensive mentoring phase with world leading experts. 
In the 1st submission stage, we expect you to describe your ideas in a maximum of 3 pages according to the Submission Form.
 
Submit Your Idea
Special focus will be given to ideas that address public sector challenges & issues or provide solutions in order to address the impact of the pandemic (i.e. development of mechanisms and platforms using data for the provision of accurate information, forecasting and early warning, development of patients service applications before, during and after admission to hospital etc.).

New Prizes

 
First place: 5000 euros will be awarded by PwC && 3 free registrations for next year’s ICEGOV2021 Conference on Digital Government
Second place: 2000 euros will be awarded by Lisbon Council Think Tank
Third place: 1000 euros will be awarded by University of Agder
All the finalists will receive:
Registration, travel, accommodation and food costs would be awarded for the final event (ICEGOV2020)
Registration fees will be awarded (since they will be applied)
Further coaching by world-leading experts from both the Digital Governance and the Entrepreneurship
domains towards the enhancement of the original ideas.
Contact with possible customers from the Government 3.0 project wider network of public sector
organizations in the whole EU.
Dissemination from the European Commission services.
Contract development with interested public sector organizations.

The awards ceremony will take place in Athens during the ICEGOV2020 Conference.

The 7th International Summer School (13 – 17 July 2020) focusing on Technologies and Applications for Government 3.0, a really growing and offering great challenges domain, will be fully organised and offered through the internet.

The Summer School on Government 3.0 is organized by the Department of Information and Communication Systems Engineering, University of the Aegean and provides a unique opportunity for participants to interact with internationally acclaimed scientists and researchers in the domain of ICT-enabled Governance, to develop their skills in the areas of policy modelling, information management, social media in governance and more. opengov2020 may be of interest to the following:

  • PhD Students interested in open government, data-driven governance and data-driven research;
  • Professionals and researchers working on open government and advanced democracy research and interested in new disruptive ICTs in e-government; open data research or open data initiatives; topics related to public values, including transparency and privacy in a governmental context; policy modeling and data-intensive decision making.
  • Senior administrators, policy advisors, government officials or agency members, who are interested in how ICTs change governments and how ICTs can be used in public administrations
