Scientific foundations training and entrepreneurship activities in the domain of ICT -enabled Governance

The scope of the competition is to find the best new applications or technological ideas that we can help scale into businesses. The ideas will have to address public sector challenges & issues utilizing new and disruptive technologies, such as Artificial Intelligent or Blockchain combined with big, open and linked data in order to improve public sector efficiency and citizen's quality of life in general.
 
In the 1st submission stage, we expect you to describe your ideas in a maximum of 3 pages according to the Submission Form.
 
Submit Your Idea
The participants will have the opportunity to:
  • Attend online courses relevant to entrepreneurship guidance towards better conceptualization and description their ideas
  • Attend online courses relevant to technological guidance towards better understanding and use of new & disruptive technologies.
  • Receive mentoring for the development of their business idea by high-level experts (mentors) of the Digital Governance domain
  • Visit the Samos Island in 2020 with covered travel and accommodation costs (finalists only)
  • Win significant prizes 

Competition Details

Terms of Participation & Eligibility

In an effort to reach as many great minds as possible the competition will be open to students/researchers coming from Erasmus+ Programme countries*.
The ideas should fall into one of the following categories: (1) new applications or (2) technological ideas related to Digital Governance that can be scaled into businesses. 
Eligible are:
  1. Groups of students and researcher over 18 years of age
  2. Proposal submitted in the English language

*EU universities, including universities in Republic of North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Serbia, Turkey

Criteria for the evaluation of proposals

  1. Innovation: the degree of new and original Digital Governance idea/ application creation
  2. The outcome of the proposal will have to be accessible either by citizens or/and public sector users
  3. Economical viability
  4. Impact and scalability
  5. Team capacity: How well suited is the team to make it happen

The awards ceremony will take place in Samos during the next opengov2020 summer school.

 
iGOvDIGITAL Awards list of prizes:
  • Free participation in the opengov2020 summer school.
  • Travel costs, food, and accommodation will be covered by the project.
  • Further coaching by world-leading experts from both the Digital Governance and the Entrepreneurship domains towards the enhancement of the original ideas.
  • Contact with possible customers from the Government 3.0 project wider network of public sector organisations in the whole EU.
  • Dissemination from the European Commission services.
  • Contract development with interested public sector organisations.
